Thank you to all of those who participated! We can’t wait for next year!

A Call For Leadership

These are turbulent times. The retail and apparel landscape is shifting, old maps are useless, the consumer has changed their preferences and their path-to-purchase. The is future is unclear and we can barely see the other side. We are surrounded by troubled waters. Our retail and brand partners are treading water. To paraphrase “J.C.” Curleigh, there are only two reasons to tread water, survival… or fitness.  I think they're treading for survival, and they're in distress.    As a lifeguard at Atlantic Beach, New York, I learned to beware of people treading water in distress. They reach out for you. They want to push themselves up and out of the water, by pushing you under. And, we can list many companies in these waters that have been pushed under, or are going under for the count of two... We will not allow this to happen to our company, nor to our partners and associates. We have deep resources, great leaders, and a solid foundation. We are Buffet-wise, Buddha-wise and Bubbe…

Finally, a Line of Office-Ready Outfits You’ll Actually Feel (And Look) Good In

Few phrases can inspire such a deep, existential sigh from within as “office attire.” The familiar, humdrum parade of chinos and ladylike blouses is enough to inspire dread in the staunchest of psyches. Where are the sharp-looking styles for women whose workplaces may not be permissive enough to make 501s and Vetements hoodies a fit? That gaping, millennial-shaped hole in the $34.9 billion annual workwear market is what one new apparel brand, Argent, aims to address.

Levi's Launches Harvey Milk Pride Collection

American denim brand Levi’s has launched its third Pride collection and its first global Pride collection for 2016 in partnership with the Harvey Milk Foundation.

Robo-Pants: Stylish & Providing Super Powers

A wearable robot, disguised as pants, provides super-powers
Slip into these pants and you can carry a heavier load, move faster, expend less energy, andwill reduce the strain on your tendons and muscles. The pants are technically an “exoskeleton” with built-in artificial intelligence, a fully “wearable robot.” Robo-Pants: Wearable technology - on steroids, and lighter, smaller and more comfortable than other exoskeletal systems.

Google Creates An Awesome Virtual Reality Painting Tool

Tilt Brush is Google’s self-proclaimed app for "Painting in 3D space with virtual reality," comes bundled with the headset, and is the first great art app for virtual reality. Using the app and the controllers on systems like the Vive, users can create amazingly detailed artwork. It’s intuitive, intensely immersive, and does something funny… While a user plays around with the different brushes and pencils and zooms, they learn how to use the virtual reality controllers.

Victoria's Secret Says Goodbye to Swimwear

All good things must come to an end, and Victoria's Secret clearly feels the same way. The global company has announced an end to their swimwear line.

Pink, as a brand of its own, has held up well by growing double-digits in the last quarter, while Victoria's Secret, as a whole, had a sales decline of 7 percent in the past year- specifically with a drop in swimwear.

The L Brands Inc. company has undergone serious changes in the past few months, including the decision to consolidate the company by merging the direct-sales business into the store business. This left as many as 200 employees without a job.

Aside from the end of swimwear, Victoria's Secret will also cease shoes and accessories that were sold through digital channel, along with a decrease of printed catalogs and coupons.

From here on out, Victoria's Secret will focus on three main businesses: Lingerie, Pink and Victoria's Secret Beauty.

For many, Victoria's Secret has been a one stop shop for swim…

Ryan Seacrest Distinction Brand Expanding Into Sportswear

It’s a tough job but somebody’s got to do it.
Ryan Seacrest will broadcast live from Copacabana beach when he hosts NBC’s late-night coverage of the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. “Yeah, it’s a tough gig,” he said with a chuckle. “But it’s not as easy as you think. I’ve really got to study my sports.”
The beachside location will also give Seacrest a chance to showcase his new capsule collection of sportswear, Ryan Seacrest Distinction Rio. The 13-piece offering, which is being produced by Weatherproof Garment Co. and Randa Accessories, will be carried exclusively in 150 Macy’s doors and at beginning next month and “until we sell it all,” Seacrest said.

Arch Enemies - The Search For a Better High Heel

The point is to bounce, just a little. That’s the shoes’ way of telling you—a little wobble, a little give—that all is well: that the shock of your footfall, heelfloortoeheelfloortoe, is being absorbed. Dolly Singh, the CEO of the shoe design firm Thesis Couture, is explaining this as I walk in a prototype version of footwear that has thus far been, due to limitations that are only partially technological in nature, pretty much impossible to imagine: shoes that are at once extremely high and relatively comfortable to wear. “What you should be feeling is, hopefully, a lot less pinch in the front than you normally do in 4-inch heels,” Singh tells me. “Because of this arch-support area”—she points toward the sole of the model I’m wearing—“it’s supposed to push your weight back towards your heel.”
You know what? It does. Or, at least, walking in a pair of Thesis stilettos—whose shanks, and heels, are constructed mostly of dense, slightly flexible polymer (“ballistics-grade,” Thesis’s m…

Not only has she changed the music game, but she's also taking us into her exercise routine in Ivy Park, her new activewear clothing line. The name was inspired by her daughter, Blue Ivy. However, the real story goes back to her childhood when she would go on morning runs with her father. Beyonce speaks about how tired she would be, but she kept pushing herself to keep up with her father. Her perseverance continues to shine through everything that she touches.

Father's Day Gift Guide: Accessories He'll Love from Ryan Seacrest & Trafalgar

Father’s Day is rapidly approaching, and if you still have yet to select a gift for your loved one, you might want to pay attention to one of the most important details for Dad: Accessories. If there is one thing for certain, it’s that you can learn a lot about someone by paying attention to details, particularly when it comes to accessorizing. From body language to the way someone ties their shoes, details might seem insignificant when looking at the bigger picture, but that extra bit of attention can give you some major insight into someone’s personality and work style.
For women, we tend to be a little more curious than men when it comes to details. This is probably due to the fact that the act of accessorizing is already engrained into our daily lives, which is why it doesn’t take much thought — we just do it! For men, this isn’t the case, which is why birthdays, holidays, and Father’s day are perfect opportunities to gift him and fill his closet with the best accessories out the…

Building Relationships | The Future of Customer Service

How Bots & Messenger Chats Are Transforming the Customer Service Experience For the Better

As a consumer, getting help from customer service departments at our favorite retailers is not and has not always been a breeze. As this interesting article from puts it, since the 1970's it has been arguably painful on purpose. Essentially, many corporations set up a not-so-easy system with multiple barriers and road blocks, banking on the customer to get frustrated and give up on a getting any kind of compensation.

But thanks to more recent advancements in technology and increased communication through bots and social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter, all of that is changing. The consumer now has a better chance of getting the attention they need through whatever platform or medium they chose. In the future, these platforms and AI bots will continue to advance and customer service can only improve. With more communication methods to chose from, customers are able…

Is Fashion Ready for the AI Revolution?

Is Fashion Ready for the AI Revolution?LONDON, United Kingdom — If artificial intelligence has its way, discounting could disappear, thanks to software that tells retailers exactly what and how many products to buy, and when to put them on sale to sell them at full price. Online shopping could become a conversation, where the shopper describes the dress of their dreams, and, in seconds, an AI-powered search engine tracks down the closest match. Designers, merchandisers and buyers could all work alongside AI, to predict what customers want to wear, before they even know themselves.

In the last few years, a trifecta of cheap, ubiquitous, powerful computing; big data; and the development of deep learning have triggered a revolution in artificial intelligence. The computing devices that now fill our everyday lives generate large data sets, which “deep learning” algorithms analyse to find trends, make predictions and perform specific tasks, such as identifying specific objects in an image.…
