Mardi Gras @ Randa NYO

Can you identify the mystery woman in the mask?

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Mardi Gras is a festival celebrating the events of Carnival, commencing on or after Epiphany and concluding on the day before Ash Wednesday, known as “Fat Tuesday”, in recognition of the copious fatty foods enjoyably consumed prior fasting for Lent, and not technically endorsed by the Randa Wellness program.

At Randa’s Design Center in Como, Italy Mardi Gras is called Martedi Grasso, it is the main event of Carnvale which originated in Ancient Rome during the festival of Saturn.

Importantly, Randa’s Logistics Hub in New Orleans is located at the heart and soul of American Mardi Gras.  Mardi Gras arrived in North America in the late 1600’s with the Le Moyne brothers who were sent by King Louis XIV to defend France’s claim on the territory of Louisiana. In New Orleans, Mardi Gras has expanded to become synonymous with the city and embraced by all residents. Mardi Gras celebrations are the root of the slogan, “Laissez les bons temps rouler,” or “Let the good times roll.”

May you find the baby in the King cake and may you have a great year.

Discounts, Discovery & Delight: 3Ds for Retail Success

In fashion and retail, Dopamine is the drug of choice. Technically, Dopamine is the neurotransmitter of “desire.” Dopamine leaps across synapses in our brain to control our reward and pleasure centers. It enables craving. It induces repeat behaviors. It makes us want more. Therefore, it is in our best interest to create products and experiences which induce the release of dopamine in our consumers. We could use some dopamine for ourselves, too. In our fashion and retail world, there are three primary stimuli, "3Ds," we can control to deliver hits of dopamine: Discounts, Discovery and Delight.
